The Noctilight Petzl is not a typical storage case for your torch. If you stow torch in case you can use the Noctilight through the transparent lid as a table lamp or hanging lamp.
You can continue using your headlamp in any position. Read you then you need a brighter create a book than for example when you play a game.
At the bottom of the Noctilight is bound a cord. Lets you use it as a hanging lamp in the tent or under the tarp. The Noctilight comes without light. Perfect for bivouac during potholing or canyoning.
