The enhanced version of the Rap Line is the first accessory cord with a dynamic safety reserve. A thin "Accessory"cord, that in the second edition much softer is.
A few years ago, a rap line was still exotic. Now many manufacturers have such ropes in the program: a thin "auxiliary rope", with which one can make everything possible. As the name suggests, the original idea is to take this thin rope as a pull-down rope for rappeling. This makes sense if you prefer climbing with a single rope rather than a double rope for handling reasons, but then you need the full descent length.
Edelrid has reworked its Rap Line. The new model is significantly smoother than the first version, has 6 mm diameter and weighs 31 grams per meter. It can be used as a glacier rope; in a single rope you can drain people, rappel twice (eg for freeride tours). A rope to save weight!
